CNC Machined Media The prequel to many design projects begins with an existing design that simply needs to be improved upon. This existing design, in many cases, is already in production and simply needs that new edge for the new model year. It's suffice to say that not all companies have the ability to digitize, or reverse engineer, the existing product design without spending many laborous hours fabricating complicated and costly jigs or patterns that still don't provide the detail and accuracy needed. This is where CPi puts to use the function of our Cimcore CMM device. It's easy to see, from the beginning, just how easy all the "work" becomes when we begin scanning our customer's existing product designs.

A CMM device, simply put, measures coordinates in real space, and translates them to the same space on a digital 3D grid in our inspection software. The key benifit of CPi's Cimcore CMM device is how it easily allows for an accuracy of one-thousandths (.001) of an inch when combined with our device interface and inspection software. Multiple configurations allow for an even greater ease of capturing coordinates no matter the material of the original product. The end result is CPi's high standard of cost efficiency, acuracy and tight tolerances.
